"Daily Mail claims Israeli spies tipped off MI6 before assassinating Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in Dubai.

Israel - Haaretz Service - 19/02/2010 - Israeli agents tipped off British intelligence that they were going to carry out an 'overseas operation' using fake British passports before assassinating a Hamas official in Dubai, the Daily Mail reported on Friday.

A Mossad operative said the U.K. Foreign Office was also told hours before Mahmoud al-Mabhouh was murdered in his hotel room by a hit squad the had entered the United Arab Emirates using fake foreign documents, the British newspaper said.

The tip-off did not say who the target would be or even where the hit squad would be in action. A British security source who met the Mossad agent was quoted by the Mail as saying:

"This is a serving member of Israeli intelligence. He says the British Government was told very, very briefly before the operation what was going to happen."

The source added: "There was no British involvement and they didn't know the name of the target. But they were told these people were travelling on UK passports."

According to the paper's source, the tip-off was not a request for permission to use British passports but more a "courtesy call" to let the security services know "a situation" might result from the operation.

The Mossad man said Israeli intelligence chiefs understood British authorities would have to "slap them on the wrist" and added:

"The British government has to be seen to be going through the motions."

U.K. officials had said previously they knew nothing of the affair until shortly before the Dubai authorities released details of the assassination earlier this week.

Britain, which on Thursday summoned Israeli Ambassador Ron Prosor to 'clarify' the affair, could now face claims it condoned on extra-judicial killing.

A Foreign Office spokesman insisted last night it was "not correct" to claim that Britain knew in advance about the passports, the Mail said.

He said: "We received the details of the British passports a few hours before the press conference [by police in Dubai].

We were able to respond to the Dubai authorities on the authenticity of the passports the next day." - [end item]

WHY DO ALL PROPAGANDA MEDIA SHOW MOSSAD 'BLUNDER'?

"Netanyahu lauded Israeli agents who do Israel's 'secret work." - New York Times, Oct. 7, 1997*

February 18th 2010 - It's quite an enigma, isn't it? But of course one should ask: why do all the major media in the world - which the war profiteers own for 96%* - broadcast all the time the Dubai CCTV-camera pictures, showing the Mossad suspects in the Dubai killing of the Hamas political party's military commander, Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, who was murdered in his hotel room on Jan 20? Do they think they're above the law? Like their Masters? Some kind of show of - misplaced - confidence?

"Britain will consider severing its intelligence-sharing agreement with Israel if Mossad agents are proved to have stolen the identities of British passport holders." According to The Daily Telegraph (UK).* But the selected - not chosen - prime minister and the cartel's franchiser in England, Gordon Brown, will never ever be able to stop cooperating with the Mossad. It's impossible for Brown to give such orders.

He - like all others, including the 'front man' in the White 'Haus' Obama, takes orders. Nothing else. They all, those greedy, cowardly middlemen and collaborators in every country the global cartel runs, have as long as they are able to remember done it, and profited many times too. And those who opposed this are dead, or 'neutralized' in any other way. Politicians, media and everybody who's in the way of their bloodstained power and wealth.

So: is it sheer and dumb arrogance of the present day murderous clique of 'secret service' women and man? Showing: this is the way we do it, and we really don't care anymore, because we have the power of the criminal cartel covering us? Like the cooperating CIA spooks in Italy, even paying their bills with their own credit cards?*

It still makes one wonder why the CCTV-videos are shown all the time. What's up?

THE CIA'S JACKALS

This is for instance one way it's done by the BIS* subservient World Bank and IMF's economical killers: 'The Jackals' and 'hit men', were years ago already perfectly described in "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man" by John Perkins, a former respected member of the international banking community. He is one of the people who after decades has decided that 'he can't take it anymore': "How the U.S. Uses Globalization to Cheat Poor Countries Out of Trillions."

In his book Perkins describes how he as a highly paid professional, helped the U.S. cheat poor countries around the globe out of trillions of dollars by lending them more money than they could possibly repay and then take over their economies. Like they always have done and still manage to do.

Perkins: "When the economic 'hit men' fail in this scenario, the next step is what we call the jackals. Jackals are C.I.A.-sanctioned people that come in and try to foment a coup or revolution. If that doesn't work, they perform assassinations. or try to.

IT IS A GLOBAL DISASTER

One has to look at it globally, because, as said, it's one global firm spreading this web of debt and deceit, the controlling and criminal cartel which holds the strings.* Also of the so called 'secret service spooks' all over the world. Even when Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu is caught red-handed ordering the murder of Arab leader Khaled Mashaal in Jordan, the U.S. media will not describe it as a terrorist act, but rather part of the "fight against terrorism."

Anyhow: this is how Finkelstein apparently wants it, like the last time: "Netanyahu Defiantly Defending Botched Assassination Attempt," which was written by nobody else than Serge Schmemann in - of course - The New York Times: "Jerusalem, October 6, 1997 — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today defended the costly Israeli assassination attempt against a Hamas leader as a setback in a ''just and vital fight'' against terrorism, making no apology and defiantly vowing to carry on.

Mr. Netanyahu made his first public statement on the affair several hours after the founder and icon of the Islamic movement Hamas, Sheik Ahmed Yassin, was flown by helicopter to an ecstatic welcome from his followers in the Gaza Strip, and after another helicopter brought back two agents of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad whose botched attempt in Jordan to kill the political leader of Hamas, Khaled Meshal, set off the crisis.

The Jordanian announcement of the release was the first official identification of the assailants as ''two Israeli agents carrying forged Canadian passports who carried out the attack on the life of Khaled Meshal.'' Previously, only press accounts had said the attack was an Israeli operation.

So, Gordon Brown's "British threat to Israel over Dubai Hamas assassination" is just another lie, one more faked 'threat' message by the 'english' PM on his string of lies: "Telegraph (UK) 18 Feb 2010 - Ministers are understood to be furious that an alleged hit squad which murdered a Hamas leader in Dubai last month cloned the passports of six unsuspecting Britons, who are now living in fear of reprisals.

Israel, which has not denied involvement in the murder, had previously promised that Mossad, its secret intelligence service, would never use British passports to help its agents carry out covert operations. Gordon Brown, making his first public comments about the incident, promised a “full investigation” into the passport forgery."

Brown can 'promise' whatever he wants: he does what his bosses behind the curtains order him to do.*

Mossad has been accused by Hamas, the Islamist group that controls Gaza, of being behind the murder of its military commander Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, who was found dead in his hotel room in Dubai on Jan 20. All of the British passport holders whose identities were stolen live in Israel, meaning Mossad would have had ready access to copies of their travel documents.

The Serious and Organised Crime Agency, which has a unit based at the British Embassy in Dubai, has begun its own investigation into the identity thefts, and the Prime Minister stressed the importance of protecting the status of the British passport.

“We have got to carry out a full investigation into this,” said Mr Brown. “The British passport is an important document that has got to be held with care. A British passport is an important part of being British.

All countries and 'secret services' cooperate

Quote concerning the United Kingdom (UK) and giving the Canadian example: "Former Mossad agent Victor Ostrovsky said that, while serving with Mossad, he saw many genuine Canadian passports that may have been "donated" to the Israeli government by Jewish-Canadians.

The new diplomatic furore threatened to revive a bitter dispute over Mossad men using false Canadian documents prompted by the publication in 1990 of the memoirs of the Canadian-born Ostrovsky, which the Israelis tried to get banned in Canada and the U.S. (In America a Jewish judge interdicted the book until overruled by a higher New York appeals court).

In "By Way of Deception," the former Israeli agent spoke of seeing a large number of blank Canadian passports in a Mossad "factory". Mr Ostrovsky wrote: "I saw a large batch of Canadian passports. .. It looked like an entire shipment. There were over 1,000 of them."

Canadian passports were favored for Mossad operations because Ottawa would not take a hard line with Israel if a passport operation was blown, Mr. Ostrovsky said. A Mossad agent carried a Canadian passport when she helped murder a Moroccan in Norway in 1973, in an Israeli assassination that was intended for a Palestinian. - The murder by Mossad agents of a Moroccan waiter, Ahmed Bouchiki, in Lillehammer, Norway on July 21, 1973."

As Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said in Israel's first official comment on the affair, then added: "I don't know why we are assuming that Israel, or the Mossad, used those passports."

Further quote: "Some senior Israeli security officials not directly involved in the case were less circumspect, saying they were convinced it was a Mossad operation because of the motive — Israel says al-Mabhouh supplied Gaza's Hamas rulers with their most dangerous weapons — and the use of Israeli citizens' identities.

The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of a government order not to discuss the case, characterized the operation as a significant Mossad bungle. If it develops into a full-blown security scandal, that could harm Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu politically.

Some compared the case to another Mossad embarrassment during Netanyahu's previous term as prime minister, the failed attempt to kill Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal in 1997. Two Mossad agents posing as Canadian tourists were captured after injecting Mashaal with poison, and Israel was forced to send an antidote that saved Mashaal's life. Today Mashaal is Hamas' supreme leader.*

ICELAND: NEGOTATIONS AND HAVEN FOR INVESTIGATING JOURNALISM?

A Parliamentary resolution concerning investigative journalism is presented on 16 February 2010. And: will the BIS and Icesave negotations with the banksters from England and The Netherlands 'break' Iceland?

What they should wonder about is the way the criminal banks on Iceland were 'broken' and by whom, how this 'debt' originated and how in the future the parliamentary resolution concerning investigative journalism can work to the advantage of Iceland too.

Ice News - 15 February 2010. - Representatives of the Icelandic government and opposition met over the weekend to decide their goals in this week’s Icesave discussions with the Netherlands and the UK. Finance Minister Steingrimur J. Grimsson told RUV (HR: Icelandic national broadcaster) that the delegation representing Iceland has already been organised and briefed; but will not be formally announced until later today.

The three nations will meet to discuss a possible renegotiation of the Icesave deal which could avoid the need for a referendum in Iceland on 6th March, which the government is widely predicted to lose. The location of the meeting and when exactly this week it will take place are not yet known. The main goal with the proposal is to task the government with finding ways to strengthen freedom of expression around world and in Iceland, as well as providing strong protections for sources and whistleblowers. To this end the legal environment should be explored in such a way that the goals can be defined, and changes to law or new law proposals can be prepared.

The legal environments of other countries should be considered, with the purpose of assembling the best laws to make Iceland a leader of freedoms of expression and information. We also feel it is high time to establish the first Icelandic international prize: The Icelandic Freedom of Expression Award.

This proposal does not belong to any single group or party, but should be considered a joint project of all parliamentarians to find a harmonious tone of reconciliation in order to pull the nation out of these difficulties with something to achieve together.

We have already been in touch with, and introduced the proposal to, various interest groups whom this new legislation package might affect, including industry, media and civil society. So far we have only received positive feedback from all levels.

A keen interest has developed among the foreign press in relation to this legislative proposal, perhaps because all over the world the freedom to write news is increasingly being smothered. In their mind Iceland could become a reverse to tax haven: a journalism haven.

The suggestions in the proposal for a legislative package would transform the possibilities for growth in various areas. Iceland could become an ideal environment for Internet-based international media and publishers to register their services, start-ups, data centers and human rights organizations. It could be a lever for the economy and create new work employment opportunities.

The criminals who direct the BIS and control the monetary flow on earth, this whole usury system, has taken humanity for a ride as long as they can remember. Már Gudmundsson was "assistant managing director of the monetary and economic division of the Bank for International Settlements" and said not a word about the BIS usury? Resulting of course in the fact that people in general, the tax payers of course, are told nothing, and had and have to pay the overpriced tickets themselves. But it would be more perfect if a lot of people on Iceland immediately start investigating the nefarious influence of the "Bank for International Settlements," the Rothschild's BIS.

One of the items could be the speech which Már Guðmundsson as the Governor of the Central Bank of Iceland, held at FIBE in Bergen last 7 January 2010, and which is reprinted in the BIS Review #9/2010: "The financial crisis in Iceland and the fault lines in cross-border banking."

It is with pain in my heart that I must state, that I have never seen so few people, do so much damage to so many people.

NAVO DE HOOP SCHEFFER IS EEN OORLOGSMISDADIGER

Zaterdag 13 Februari 2010 - In een artikel in het propaganda-blad NRC is te lezen dat 't z.g. 'hoogleraarschap' aan de Universiteit Leiden van de ex-NAVO-Führer de Hoop Scheffer 'betwist' zou zijn.

Die is niet alleen betwist: het feit dat deze gesjeesde 'christelijke' CDA-politicus, die medeschuldig is aan miljoenen lijdenden en doden door gewapende roofovervallen van illegaal NAVO-kanonnenvoer op soevereine staten, nu de vrede preekt, is te gek voor woorden.

Het is ongelofelijk dat een bewezen oorlogsmisdadiger zoals de Hoop Scheffer door gevaarlijke gekken een professoraat krijgt aangeboden, en dat nog aanneemt ook. Wat is dit? Een mengsel van George Orwell's 1984 en de Animal Farm?

Sinds 1 september 2009 is deze kwalijke NAVO-slaaf over 'vrede, recht en veiligheid' van medemensen aan het spreken, allemaal zaken die hij in het werkelijke leven onmogelijk en dodelijk heeft gemaakt voor miljoenen. Elk zinnig, weldenkend mens, moet dit toch enorm tegen de borst stuiten? Dit soort psychopatische moordenaars zoals de Hoop Scheffer moet toch levenslang in 't gevang of 'n gesticht?

Het kan toch niet zo zijn in 'n wereld anno 2010, dat massamoordenaars de vrede preken? Zijn de verantwoordelijken geestelijk helemaal ontheemd? Alles lijkt erop te wijzen dat dit het geval is. Zelfs de secretaris-generaal van de Verenigde Naties, Kofi Annan, zei hetzelfde in 2004 wat de commissie Davids in het rapport over Irak zegt: er was géén mandaat en deze invasie was ILLEGAAL!

Het staat toch duidelijk ook in het rapport van de commissie Davids* over Irak, dat er géén mandaat was om ook maar iets of iemand aan te vallen? Laat staan dat er enig soort 'dreiging' bestond, of zelfs maar een oorlogsverklaring. Allemaal gelogen en bedrogen, en de Hoop Scheffer die dit allemaal in de hand werkte mocht de schoothond en Führer van de VS/GB oorlogsmachine NAVO zijn. Als beloning voor z'n verraad aan de mensheid.

Net zoals de rest van de voor deze massamoorden verantwoordelijken dient hij zo snel mogelijk voor een eerlijk oorlogstribunaal te verschijnen en minstens levenslange gevangenisstraf te krijgen. Met dagelijks een paar uurtjes aan 'n schandpaal op de Dam, i.p.v. een leerstoel! Dit is een schande die amper uitgewist kan worden.

Rotterdam, 12 febr. 2010 - Het hoogleraarschap aan de Universiteit Leiden van voormalig minister van Buitenlandse Zaken Jaap de Hoop Scheffer is in opspraak geraakt. In ingezonden brieven in het Leids universiteitblad Mare hekelen docenten en studenten De Hoop Scheffers rol bij de besluitvorming rondom de inval in Irak. De CDA-politicus bekleedt sinds 1 september 2009 de Kooijmans-leerstoel voor vrede, recht en veiligheid.

In een artikel in Mare van afgelopen week citeert hoogleraar pedagogiek Rien van IJzendoorn het boek Burgers en Barbaren (2007) van emeritus hoogleraar internationaal recht Peter Kooijmans, de naamgever van De Hoop Scheffers leerstoel. Kooijmans schrijft dat „het niet op de weg ligt van individuele lidstaten naleving van resoluties van de Veiligheidsraad af te dwingen, indien daartoe door de Raad zelf niet wordt opgeroepen”.

Van IJzendoorn: „Het vergt van De Hoop Scheffer een dikke huid en veel zitvlees om de komende drie jaar op die ongemakkelijke (leer)stoel te blijven zitten.” Eerder al had bijzonder hoogleraar kiezersonderzoek Joop van Holsteijn geconcludeerd dat het De Hoop Scheffer ontbrak aan academische kwalificaties en hem gekenmerkt als „iemand die zo trouw is aan de Amerikanen dat hij de leiband nooit gevoeld zal hebben”.

Student politieke wetenschappen Matthijs Wibier riep naar aanleiding van de bevindingen van de commissie-Davids op De Hoop Scheffer te ontslaan. „Kennelijk is hij iemand die er in een uiterst serieuze context voor kiest zich van een wetenschappelijk fundamenteel onverantwoorde denktrant en handelwijze te bedienen.”

Een woordvoerder van de Leidse universiteit laat in een reactie weten dat de universiteit „geen oordeel heeft over het politiek handelen van Jaap de Hoop Scheffer. Hij is aangesteld op deze leerstoel vanwege zijn ruime praktijkervaring op het gebied van de internationale politiek. We denken dat die kennis voor studenten interessant kan zijn.”

What Will Unchecked Corporate Power Mean for America?

Franklin's Focus - Febr. 11th 2010 - The appended piece was written and published well before the Supreme Court invested corporations with immense power over the legislative branch of America. Congress already is largely bought and sold.* It will now be almost totally bought and sold. That's why this article caught my attention. It's time to be thinking about what America will look like following the Supreme Court decision.

This essay offers some added food for thought. It is interesting partly because it covers issues that Obama seems content to keep hidden from the people of this country. This, in turn, suggests, he has no plans whatsoever to remedy the situation as it stands. He consistently demonstrates a much greater concern for powerful corporations than for the greater body of American citizens.

Think about what FDR did to end unemployment in America. Then think about what Obama has done. His entire focus from day one was on saving huge financial corporations.

What interests me are the revelations regarding the increasing power of corporations and how that power may reshape the world. The recent decision by our Supreme Court fits well as a piece in what is a larger puzzle. It clearly means a huge increase in the power of corporations in the U.S., power that will possibly contribute to a kind of scenario the author predicts in this article.

I don't know if this is accurate futurism or not, but it certainly gives one food for thought.

Foreign Policy - April 15, 2009 - Many see the global economic crisis as proof that we live in one world.* But as countries stumble to right the wrongs of the corporate masters of the universe, they are driving us right back to a future that looks like nothing more than a new Middle Ages, that centuries-long period of amorphous conflict from the fifth to the 15th century when city-states mattered as much as countries.

The state isn't a universally representative phenomenon today, if it ever was. Already, billions of people live in imperial conglomerates such as the [HR: totalitarian] European Union, the Greater Chinese Co-Prosperity Sphere, and the emerging [HR: & fascist] North American Union, where state capitalism has become the norm. But at least half the United Nations’ membership, about 100 countries, can hardly be considered responsible sovereigns.

Billions live unsure of who their true rulers are, whether local feudal lords or distant corporate executives. [HR: BIS usury system below*] In Egypt and India, democratic elections have devolved into auctions. Delivering security and providing welfare aren't just campaign promises; they are the campaign.

The fragmentation of societies from within is clear: From Bogotá to Bangalore, gated communities with private security are on the rise.

This diffuse, fractured world will be run more by cities and city-states than countries.

Once, Venice and Bruges formed an axis that spurred commercial expansion across Eurasia. Today, just 40 city-regions account for two thirds of the world economy and 90 percent of its innovation. The mighty Hanseatic League, a constellation of well-armed North and Baltic Sea trading hubs in the late Middle Ages, will be reborn as cities such as Hamburg and Dubai form commercial alliances and operate "free zones" across Africa like the ones Dubai Ports World is building. Add in sovereign wealth funds and private military contractors, and you have the agile geopolitical units of a neomedieval world.

Even during this global financial crisis, multinational corporations heavily populate the list of the world's largest economic entities; the commercial diplomacy of emerging-market firms such as China’s Haier and Mexico’s Cemex has already turned North-South relations inside out faster than the nonaligned movement ever did.

There are positive sides to a world where every man can be a nation unto himself. Postmodern Medicis such as Bill Gates, Anil Ambani, George Soros, and Richard Branson take it upon themselves to cure pandemics, run corporate cities, undermine authoritarian regimes, and sponsor climate-saving research. But the Middle Ages were fundamentally a time of fear, uncertainty, plagues, and violence.

So, too, their successor. AIDS and SARS, terrorism and piracy, cyclones and rising sea levels - it is no longer clear how to invest in the future, or what future to invest in.

Figuring out how to respond to this new world will take decades at least.

The next Renaissance is still a long way off.

How Obama and Congress Once Again Are Selling Out This Nation

Franklin's Focus 2/11/10 - The appended item is one I received from a subscriber who publishes a daily news and commentary email. He and I are almost always on the same page. This item suggests that once again the conservative TC orientation and philosophy of Obama is heading this nation down horrendous paths, both domestically and internationally. This exposé is a real bummer — one more clandestine action by this administration to fuel our despair.

If he had any decency in his political and economic philosophies, he would be been working to undo the disastrous acts described in the appended item and would have worked to block more recent bills and treaties heading us down the same pathways. His work was all cut out for him and waiting for his attention as the leader of this nation. Instead, he has looked the other way.

Today I tried to think of something valuable and lasting that Obama has done for for my native land during his first year. Of course, my memory ain't what it used to be, so I may be forgetting something. In any case, I can't think of one damned worthwhile thing he has done for my country. Both internationally and domestically, he seems to be openly or secretly pushing this nation into a black hole.

The appended item makes visible the actions of the so called 'invisible hand' that gungho capitalists are so proud of. The mainstream media have long ignored the story contained in the appended report. I guess the 'hand' is indeed invisible, but mostly due to the fact our media are controlled by rabid rightwing greedsters.

The astronomical thefts of the robber barons on Wall Street have now been covered by Obama with mind boggling largesse, while those who were deceived and misled and have lost their homes, their fortunes, and their jobs have been abandoned. Those who did this to them, on the other hand, are raking in millions with the help of our president and his acquired cabal of Wall Street thieves. Obama occasionally grumbles about this, but mostly does it half heartedly and for show only.

As a final note, I will be sending you a copy of the 'Foreign Policy' article referred to in the appended item, i.e. 'The Next Big Thing: Neomedievalism'. This is definitely worth reading. It's short, clear, and to the point.

On March 1, 1999, countries accounting for more than 90 per cent of the global financial services market signed onto the World Trade Organization's Financial Services Agreement (FSA).

By signing the FSA, they committed to deregulate their financial markets.

 For example, by signing the FSA, the U.S. agreed not to break up too big to fails.

The U.S. also promised to repeal Glass-Steagall, and did so 8 months after signing the FSA. 

Indeed, in signing the FSA and other WTO agreements, the U.S. has legally bound itself as follows (.pdf):

• No new regulation: The United States agreed to a “standstill provision” that requires that we not create new regulations (or reverse liberalization) for the list of financial services bound to comply with WTO rules. Given that the United States has made broad WTO financial services commitments – and thus is forbidden by this provision from imposing new regulations in these many areas – this provision seriously limits the policy [options] available to address the current crisis.



• Removal of regulation: The United States even agreed to try to eliminate domestic financial service regulatory policies that meet GATS [i.e. General Agreement on Trade in Services] rules, but that may still “adversely affect the ability of financial service suppliers of any other (WTO) Member to operate, compete, or enter” the market.



• No bans on new financial service “products”: The United States is also bound to ensure that foreign financial service suppliers are permitted “to offer in its territory any new financial service,” a direct conflict with the various proposals to limit various risky investment instruments, such as certain types of derivatives.



• Certain forms of regulation banned outright: The United States agreed that it would not set limits on the size, corporate form or other characteristics of foreign firms in the broad array of financial services it signed up to WTO strictures ...



• Treating foreign and domestic firms alike is not sufficient: The GATS market-access limits on U.S. domestic regulation apply in absolute terms; that is to say, even if a policy applies to domestic and foreign firms alike, if it goes beyond what WTO rules permit, it is forbidden. And, forms of regulation not outright banned by the market-access requirements must not inadvertently “modify the conditions of competition in favor of services or service suppliers” of the United States, even if they apply identically to foreign and domestic firms.

In other words, the problem isn't just that Congress and the White House have sold out to the Wall Street giants.

The problem is also that the U.S. has signed WTO agreements that have given the keys to the too-big-to-fails, and have neutered their regulators.

Even if some politicians tried to stand up to Wall Street - or even if we "throw out all of the bums" currently in political roles - the U.S. would still be locked into the WTO's scheme for helping the financial giants to grow ever bigger and to take ever-bigger and ever-riskier gambles.

Indeed, the financial giants are pushing hard for further deregulation demanding that the WTO's "Doha round" of agreements be signed.


On the other hand, if the American people stood up for our sovereignty and demanded that the financial giants be reined in, it would be easy to fix the WTO agreements which the U.S. has already signed. Public Citizen notes, "as a legal matter, these problems are easy to remedy ..."


Will the American people stand up and demand that the WTO deregulatory scheme be rolled back?


Or will we continue to let the financial giants destroy our country through buying and selling politicians (with thehelp of the Supreme Court) and forcing us into more and more draconian WTO treaties which destroy our sovereignty altogether?


Many people assume that they just have to hang in there until things improve. But the powers-that-be are grabbing more and more power and - unless we stand up to them - they will take it all.

 As highly-regarded economist (Michael Hudson, Distinguished Research Professor at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, who has advised the U.S., Canadian, Mexican and Latvian governments as well as the United Nations Institute for Training and Research, and who is a former Wall Street economist at Chase Manhattan Bank who helped establish the world’s first sovereign debt fund) said:

You have to realize that what they’re trying to do is to roll back the Enlightenment, roll back the moral philosophy and social values of classical political economy and its culmination in Progressive Era legislation, as well as the New Deal institutions.

They’re not trying to make the economy more equal, and they’re not trying to share power.

Their greed is (as Aristotle noted) infinite. So what you find to be a violation of traditional values is a re-assertion of pre-industrial, feudal values. The economy is being set back on the road to debt peonage.

The Road to Serfdom* is not government sponsorship of economic progress and rising living standards, it’s the dismantling of government, the dissolution of regulatory agencies, to create a new feudal-type elite.

And Foreign Policy magazine ran an article entitled "The Next Big Thing: Neomedievalism", [above - HR] arguing that the power of nations is declining, and being replaced by corporations, wealthy individuals, the sovereign wealth funds of monarchs, and city-regions.

We either stand up, or we slip back into a darker age.

Inflatie gedaald tot 0,8 procent

De inflatie is weer aan het dalen. De
geldontwaarding kwam in januari uit op
0,8 procent. In december was dat nog
1,1procent. Het is voor het eerst in vijf
maanden dat de inflatie is gedaald.
Dat meldt het CBS.

De belangrijkste oorzaak van de daling
is de aanpassing van de energietarieven
per 1 januari. Gas en elektriciteit zijn
nu 17 procent goedkoper dan een jaar
geleden. Ook werden veel levensmiddelen
goedkoper, door aanbiedingen in de
supermarkten.

Vorig jaar werd voor 9,7 miljard euro
aan nieuwe kredieten afgesloten, dat
is 10 procent minder dan in 2008.
