The story below is a comment on Information Clearing House's article on "Iraq: The War Was Illegal."*

December 1st 2009 - Most people will remember what the United Nation's Secretary General Kofi Annan too - in a rare burst of honesty - said: 'that the illegal invasion - he said 'war' - in Iraq is illegal' - BBC: video & text-interview - Url.: http://tinyurl.com/5pl2v
It all goes back to the inside job, the New Pearl Harbor: the 'False flag' 9/11 disaster where to start with at least 3000 people were killed and which was based on a pure lie, told via the propaganda media the warmongers also own. This 9/11 pretext was absolutely no legal base for NATO either to act as the armed errand boys fighting US illegal invasions. - Url.: http://tinyurl.com/zqzkc
The NYT had this story however: "Oil Companies Look to the Future in Iraq" - Excerpt New York Times - November 30, 2009 - Baghdad - "More than six and a half years after the United States-led invasion here that many believed was about oil, the major oil companies are finally gaining access to Iraq’s petroleum reserves. But they are doing so at far less advantageous terms than they once envisioned. [snip]
After months of secret negotiations between the Oil Ministry and the companies, two new deals and the completion of a third were announced in recent weeks. A consortium of Eni, an Italian oil company, Occidental and Korea Gas signed a preliminary agreement to develop the Zubayr field, which has an estimated 4.1 billion barrels of oil.
Shortly thereafter came the formal ratification of the only deal reached during the June auction, a partnership between British Petroleum and the China National Petroleum Company for Iraq’s Rumaila oil field, one of the largest in the world, with an estimated 17.8 billion barrels of oil.
Within days of that deal’s ratification, Exxon Mobil [Rockefeller owned, formerly Standard Oil] and Royal Dutch Shell [Anglo-Dutch cartel] signed an initial contract to develop West Qurna, Iraq’s most sought-after field in part because it is believed to have at least 8.6 billion barrels of oil. The government said it expected production from the three fields alone to vault Iraq’s output to 7 million barrels a day from 2.5 million barrels a day within six years, which would move it from the world’s 13th largest producer to the fourth, according to Department of Energy statistics. “Iraq is now on its way,” Mr. Shahristani said after the announcements." - [end excerpt] - Source: New York Times - Url.: http://www.nytimes.com/
The fact that China in Iraq’s Rumaila oil field for instance doesn't mind either to steal oil together with BP (Rothschild) from a by the US/UK/NATO and israeli mercenaries occupied and ransacked country like Iraq with millions of dead and suffering people speaks for itself. Doesn't it?
Very interesting is also the fact that in this raped country Iraq - with the reigns pulled by the US/UK war profiteers - the election law was passed now and a special niche was created for the Kurds and Kirkuk. Because Kurdistan will not now, nor in the nearby future become independent. Kurds will not rule themselves for a long time to come. At least not as long as neighboring countries need Kurdistan's water.
The water from the Kurdish mountains also is the life line for Israel, and much more expensive than oil.
And that's what the whole fight is about: power and profit. Why this area, known as Kurdistan is so interesting to Israel is explained here. - Url.: http://tinyurl.com/yklb3s8
Not a word about these motives is said here however: "The Election Law Is Passed: Open Lists, Kirkuk Recognised as a Governorate with “Dubious” Registers." - By Reidar Visser (www.historiae.org) - 8 November 2009 - Excerpt: "The controversy for the three past weeks has focused on how to hold elections in Kirkuk, where the non-Kurdish population complains that the electoral registers have been tampered with by the Kurdish-dominated local government in the period from 2004 until now, with the aim of securing a Kurdish victory in any future referendum about the inclusion of the city in the Kurdistan federal region." - [end excerpt] - Source: Norway - Historia.org - Url.: http://historiae.org/election-law.asp
Just keep in mind what the inhuman reality is, and has been for many years already:
Israel signs agreement to buy water from Turkey - March 2004 - U.S. Water News Online
Jerusalem - Israel has signed an agreement to buy water from Turkey and may pay for part of it with weapons, in a deal aimed at alleviating Israel's chronic water shortage and cementing its relations with an important Middle East ally.
Under the 20-year agreement, Turkey will ship 40,500 acre feet of water annually from its Manavgat River, which flows into the Mediterranean Sea, the two countries said. Details must still be worked out, including the price of the water and how to transport it to Israel, they said.
The agreement, more than two years in the making, comes at a time when Israel's main source of fresh water, the Sea of Galilee, is full to overflowing after abundant rainfall. But long-term prospects in the arid region are bleak. Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Jonathan Peled said the water would probably be shipped in tankers or towed across the Mediterranean in large plastic bubbles to a storage facility.
Based on estimated shipping costs from the ministry, the deal could amount to tens of millions of dollars a year for Turkey. Peled said a small amount of that money would be paid in goods, most likely military items.
In the parched Middle East, water is a strategic issue as well as one of survival. Turkey is one of the few countries in the region with water reserves, and sales of the precious commodity could boost its position as a regional power. Israel's relationship with the large Islamic country is important to the Jewish state, especially after more than three years of fighting with the Palestinians. The violence has caused tension in the Middle East and strained Israel's ties with Egypt and Jordan, the only Arab countries with which it has signed peace treaties.
``This agreement will increase the cooperation between the two countries and also lead to peace and stability in the Middle East,'' said Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Namik Tan.
He said the landmark agreement turns water into an internationally accepted ``commodity,'' and that Turkey hopes to sell water to other countries. Israel currently gets most of its water from the Sea of Galilee. It also is building a desalination plant in the port city of Ashkelon, a project that is expected to take several years to complete. Peled said Israel hopes the deal with Turkey could lead to further agreements to share water with Jordan or the Palestinians." - [and end] - Source: U.S. Water News Online - Url.: http://tinyurl.com/ygpsemz
As 'Third World Traveler' wrote already in 1998, it's a power block with Turkey, the Kurds and Israel involved - - Url.: http://tinyurl.com/flsx
Power - energy - and profit for the criminal cartel of which Big Oil is part and parcel.
That is why some Kurds get arms, and other Kurds get killed.
It's the umpteenth armed robbery for the cartel, nothing else.
