IRAQ: POLLS OPEN FOR ILLEGAL ELECTION

At least 200.000 foreign armed occupants are guarding the hoax.

March 7th 2010 - According to the war profiteers' many propaganda sources - like CNN - the polls opened for the illegal 'parliamentary elections' in Iraq. Anybody who knows about the also by the US signed Geneva Conventions and international law in general, also understands that the so called 'elections' in an occupied area/country are forbidden. Any 'results' are null and void.

The at that time United Nation's Secretary General, Kofi Annan, said it quite clearly in an interview with the BBC again: 'The war in Iraq is illegal!' - BBC video & text - interview - Url.: http://tinyurl.com/5pl2v

Implying that everybody anywhere who supports this illegal invasion is a war criminal, and must be treated as such. Meaning: lifetime in jail at least for the criminal support of this umpteenth genocide. (UNICEF: Three million Iraqis dead, until now.)

The 'smoke and mirrors' of the international propaganda media are supposed to give some people still the idea, brainwash them further, that some form of 'democracy' is doled out by the killing and robbing destructive and also dying NATO cannon-fodder and other contractors/mercenaries, in also Iraq. Nothing could be further from the truth: human rights are never sacred by the barrel of a gun. Only power and profit for the criminal cartel are.*

But, and lying and omitting as usual, CNN has this, with my earlier explanation below:

STORY HIGHLIGHTS

• Iraqis head to polls in nationwide parliamentary elections
• 18.9 million people will be eligible to vote
• Twenty-five percent of seats in Iraq parliament must go to women

Baghdad, Iraq (CNN) - Voters headed to the polls in Iraq on Sunday to elect a 325-member parliament. It is Iraq's fifth nationwide vote since 2003, but only the second for a full four-year-term parliament.

Militants intent on disrupting the elections carried out a series of attacks in the first few hours of balloting, resulting in several casualties. Sixteen mortar rounds hit the capital, with three landing inside the heavily fortified International Zone. The rockets did not cause casualties. The zone, informally known as the Green Zone, houses the U.S. Embassy and many Iraqi government buildings.

One of the rockets landed in the Ur neighborhood in northeastern Baghdad, killing 12 people and wounding eight others. Three people were killed and 54 were injured on Saturday when a parked car rigged with explosives blew up in Najaf. Three attacks happened Thursday. There have been warnings of further insurgent attacks around the vote.

The polls opened at 7 a.m. (11 p.m. ET Saturday), and will close at 5 p.m. (9 a.m. ET Sunday). All those in line at the time the polls are open will be able to vote.
Voter turnout figures should be available shortly after polls close, and preliminary results are expected by Wednesday, the United Nations said. Results will start emerging for each province as soon as 30 percent of polling centers in that province are tallied.

The last time the country had a national vote was in 2005, when the Sunni Arab population boycotted the elections and the political process. A Shiite-led government emerged and the Sunnis, feeling disenfranchised, went on to form the main part of the insurgency.

The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq calls the elections an "important milestone in Iraq's democratic progress," serving to strengthen the country's sovereignty and independence as the United States draws down its military presence there.

Sunday's elections were supposed to happen in January but were delayed because of political disagreements and a delay in passing the election law that paved the way for this vote.

There are 18.9 million eligible voters, casting ballots for 325 seats in the Council of Representatives, as Iraq's parliament is called. The seats represent Iraq's 18 provinces.

The number of seats is increasing from the previous 275. Seat allocation was based on 2005 population data from the Ministry of Trade and adjusted for a 2.8 percent annual growth across all governates.

On Friday, voting began for Iraqis abroad in 16 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Turkey, Iran, Canada and others in the Middle East and Europe. There are no exact figures on those eligible to cast ballots abroad. Estimates on turnout have ranged anywhere from 300,000 to 3 million." - [end quote] - CNN's Jomana Karadsheh contributed to this report." - [end quote] - CNN story - Url.: http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/meast/03/07/iraq.elections

HERE'S ALSO WHY THE SO CALLED 'ELECTION' IS ILLEGAL:

The 'elections' in Iraq are totally illegal and void. Whether it's an election, a referendum, a parliament, the courts or a 'new' constitution: doing this in an occupied country is according to all international law, and also by the U.S. signed international treaties and conventions, confirm that changing a constitution or holding elections in an occupied territory is absolutely illegal.

Among others the Geneva Convention, Article 54 reads: "The Occupying Power may not alter the status of public officials or judges in the occupied territories, or in any way apply sanctions to or take any measures of coercion or discrimination against them, should they abstain from fulfilling their functions for reasons of conscience."

But of course the occupying armed forces who really have wrecked the whole country look different upon it for their masters. The more and more pro-warprofiteers and English language 'service' broadcasting of AlJazeera shows all the bad propaganda signs:

Video and text al Jazeera: "March 4, 2010 - Early voting has begun in Iraq's parliamentary elections." - Security personnel, detainees and hospital patients were among those allowed to vote ahead of Sunday's election, when most Iraqis will cast their ballots. Security is tight after Wednesday's suicide bomb attack in the city of Baquba, which killed at least 32 people.

These are only Iraq's second elections for a full parliamentary term since the US-led invasion in 2003. Al Jazeera's Mike Hanne reports from Baghdad." - Short Video and text - March 4, 2010 - Url.: http://www.youtube.com/user/AlJazeeraEnglish#p/u/4/gpkzI3zk5DU

Of course Mike Hanne and the rest of the presstitutes know, but they - like all collaborators everywhere - go along with the lies and fables of the occupying power. So here the people who stand to watch the war propaganda from al Jazeera, see this: "Iraq expats in Jordan ready to vote."

The questions not asked are legion, but one thing in particular could have been asked: why are there 1.3 million expatriated Iraqis? Who profits from their suffering?

Anyhow: this is what al Jazeera broadcasts too: "March 4, 2010 - One of the biggest stumbling blocks on the road to the election in Iraq was deciding who would be allowed to vote. After a long fight for their chance to take part, some 100,000 out of an estimated 1.3 million expatriate Iraqis have reportedly registered.

They can cast their ballots in 16 countries on March 5, 6 and 7. The Iraqi expatriates make up a fifth of the total number of people eligible to take part in the ballot. Al Jazeera's Nisreen Shamayleh reports from Amman." - Short Video & text - Url.: http://www.youtube.com/user/AlJazeeraEnglish#p/u/0/hPQGYI2BXyQ

May I - as a Pro Memoriam which is still valid in 2010 - reprint the item on the illegal changing of the 'constitution' in Iraq, which with the murderous assistance of the occupying armed force of NATO and other mercenaries was pushed down the throat of the Iraq people?

"The 'New' constitution in Iraq is Illegal."

August 23d - 2005 - 'Illegal' - that's what Iraqi opposition leaders now call the three more days the 'parliamentarians' gave themselves to further concoct Iraq's first post-Saddam 'constitution'. According to US occupation information sources: "the charter's authors, under heavy US pressure, beat a midnight Monday deadline by just minutes to turn over their draft to parliament."

Whatever they 'draft' or call it: it's all illegal.

In what way ever the US 'Lie Factory' and the collaborators in occupied Iraq via the mainstream media may try to 'cook' the books: according to the also by the US signed Geneva Convention*, the Hague Convention (Art. 43) and all earlier valid international laws, it's mandatory c.q. compulsory, that "An occupant" must ensure public order "while respecting, unless absolutely prevented, the laws in force in the country."

THE GENEVA CONVENTIONS (IV) OF 1949, PROHIBIT THE MODIFICATION OF THE DOMESTIC LAWS OR LEGAL INSTITUTIONS OF THE OCCUPIED POWER.

Whether it's an election, a referendum, courts or a 'new' constitution; doing this in an occupied country is illegal!

Even if the genocidal neocons in the usurped White House have their propaganda machine and 'front man' George Bush [now stooge, the selected Barack Obama] praise the not at all successful negotiations as "the essence of democracy: the establishment of a democratic constitution will be a landmark event in the history of Iraq and the history of the Middle East," US President George W. Bush again and knowingly lied in a speech in Salt Lake City. This 'charter' - or whatever the 'constitution is called - is legal nor democratic.

And I'm convinved that many countries should throw out war propagandists like the BBC, FOX, CNN and all the other dish-bitches and prompter readers. - Url.: http://tinyurl.com/yz4kn5m

SOME PUBLIC OFFICIALS START TELLING THE TRUTH

Where he met resistance from an unexpected side: the mayor of the town himself. Bush critic and Cindy Sheehan's actions supporting Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson, had called for demonstrations against President Bush and the cartel's inhuman policy, national and international, and told the more than 2,000 activists: "Our nation was lied into war. You are true patriots for being here today."

Apparently more and more public officials in the U.S. and many other countries finally dare - or have become desperate by what they also see happening - and start telling the truth.

That can never be expected from the [former] U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice - who like the rest of the neocon's administration praises Iraqi politicians for showing: "determination and resolve in the face of extremism and violence."

However: the mainstream propaganda sewers are activated, saying that 'once approved by the Iraqi 'legislature', the so called 'charter' will be presented to the victims of occupied Iraq in a referendum.

The US's 'Lie Factory" and Newspeak divisions will stage the same 'Potemkin cover' as last time, at those so called 'free elections'; with most people knowing that whatever is done with this piece of paper: the illegal 'constitution' will be worth less than the paper it's written upon.

The U.S. Lie Factory: It's not only the radio & TV mind poisoning and brainwashing from Hollywood: the so called 'Free Press' is Big Money too. And we all understand that having 96% of the war propaganda media, one controls the political landscape as well. - Url.: http://tinyurl.com/dafucd

But, this so called 'charter' will be valid and important as evidence of also this breach of the Geneva Conventions - in the court cases which in the nearby future must and will take place, concerning the war crimes of the PNAC neocons and their ilk.

In Mother Jones magazine it is confirmed - 4 March 2010 - that "Rove Protects the Rear: In a new book, the ex-Bush aide contends W. didn't knowingly mislead the nation into the Iraq war. Here's the history he leaves out." - Url.: http://tinyurl.com/ybo6496

Karl Rove omits the MSNBC - Poll: Ninety-four (94) percent believes that George Bush and the neocon media mislead the nation to go to war with Iraq - Url.: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8248969/

It's all illegal, whatever the occupying ''Coalition of the Killing'- forces plans to do, like trying to change the Iraqi constitution in this ravaged country.

The Geneva Convention, Article 54 reads: "The Occupying Power may not alter the status of public officials or judges in the occupied territories, or in any way apply sanctions to or take any measures of coercion or discrimination against them, should they abstain from fulfilling their functions for reasons of conscience."

Many in the US and Pentagon cartel still have not understood that Might does not make Right. They want profit and power: hegemony for their own clan at whatever price to humanity. They really don't care. Never!

It is on the other hand a miracle that some of the victims of the US 'liberation' still have some humor intact in the midst of the general destruction by the armed forces.

The best comment came from an Iraqi who said he wants to move to Japan, because:

My father is a Sunni, and my mother a Shia.

So I think I'm a sushi...
